Commencing on a Long Distance Relationship

A common question among people when they learn that they will have to embark on a long distance relationship is whether such a relationship is practical in the first place.
The answer to the same question is that it is indeed possible to make a long distance relationship work - but it does require more effort than an ordinary relationship when the people are close together.
Granted, all sorts of human relationships are hard enough to manage - the human animal is a complex animal, as any anthropologist is apt to tell you.
Generally, the main determinant as to whether a long distance relationship works is just how committed to one another the couple in question were, before whatever is forcing them to go on a long distance love relationship arose.
If the relationship was falling apart, and the partners were on the verge of giving up on each other, then chances are that making a long distance relationship between them work is going to be a very tall order indeed.
If their relationship on the other hand was thriving, then the prognosis for their long distance relationship is hopeful, at least.
